Kitchen tips and tricks are the lifeblood of an efficient kitchen. We have gathered some little secrets that will make your cooking so much easier!

FREEZE CULINARY HERBS IN ICE CUBES TRAYS

This is the best method to preserve fresh herbs and it can be applied to herbs like basil, oregano, thyme, chives, etc. Rinse the herbs and chop them. Fill each compartment of an ice cube tray with the herbs and pour some hot water over them (this will help retain their best color and flavor). Freeze until solid, remove from the tray and transfer them to a freezer-safe plastic bag for longer storage. Whenever a recipe calls for fresh herbs just take one of these ice cubes out, throw it in and voila!

TO GET AS MUCH JUICE AS POSSIBLE FROM A LEMON, LIME OR ORANGE

Heat it in the microwave for about 15 seconds. Or roll it on the countertop (before you slice it) with your hand (pressing slightly) to loosen the fruit flesh.
